Yatri Sahyadri has organized a trek to DoodhSagar Waterfalls on 22nd & 23rd August, 2015.

Some Information about the fort:

Dudhsagar Falls (literally Sea of Milk ) is a tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River on Braganza ghat section on Goa - Karnataka border. 

As the cascading waters appear white like milk, the waterfall is called Dudhsagar,

The waterfall is located in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wild Life Sanctuary at Kulem in South Goa in the western ghats.

Dudhsagar is one of the world's most exquisite falls. During the monsoon season, the falls are transformed into one of the most powerful falls in India and is listed as India's fifth tallest waterfall

Trekking in Dudhsagar is a famous tourist attraction. There are two abandoned shelters for the refuge of trekkers (left to the falls and right side beside the railway track). They are available on first-come-first-served basis.



Day One – 22/08/2015

08.30 am: Reporting at Kurla Terminus (LTT).

09.05 am: Proceed Londa by #17318 - LTT Hubbali exp.

10.44 am: Same train can be boarded at Karjat station.


Day Two – 23/08/2015

12.10 am: Reach at Londa station (22nd Aug. midnight).

02.00 am: Proceed to DoodhSagar by #12780 Goa Express.

04.00 am : Reach DodhSagar station.

04.00 am to 06.00am: Rest at DoodhSagar station.

06.15 am : Freshen up and Start a Scenic 1 km trail to Dudhsagar Water falls along the railway track. It normally takes 15 mins to reach.

12.30 pm : Board Amaravathi Express from Dudhsagar Station @ 12.30pm and alight @ Madgaon.

06.00pm: Board Train from Madgaon towards Mumbai.


Day Three – 24/08/2015

06.00 am: Morning by 6am Reach Panvel/ Thane/ LTT.


Charges: Rs. 2300/-

Maximum participants – 30 only.

Traveling from Mumbai  – DoodhSagar & Back.
1 Morning breakfast/tea,

2 Lunch,

2 Dinner.

Expert Guidance for the trek.


Here is a list of all the things that we need to carry for the trek:

  1. Waterproof/Water resistant haversack to put in all the things to be carried. So that one has hands free while trekking,
  2. Water minimum 2Ltrs,
  3. Camera (Optional), Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry (at own risk)
  4. Please carry a set of used newspapers, Maggi, matchbox, torch, batteries and chocolates (No lozenges) for energy, Electoral / Enerzyl powder, 4-5 lemons, some snacks & biscuits, plate, spoon glass. (All reusable & compulsory),
  5. Personal medicines & 2 plastic bags for weight distribution, insect repellant cream (Odomos or similar brand),
  6. A Good pair of running/trekking shoes, shawl, bedding and extra clothes (compulsory),
  7. Clothing as per your requirements of the stay and season in which trek is going to be done.(Avoid wearing jeans as it will rub against your skin leading to rashes)
  8. Sleeping Matt or sleeping bag.
