This trek requires immense mental and physical strength as we need to cover stretch from ratangad to harishchandra gad via katrabai khind in one single day,it takes around 12 hours to do so.........guys get ready for this beautiful adventure..........

Ratangad :-

Type: Hill Fort
Grade: Medium
Endurance Level: Medium
Height: approx. 4255 ft.
Region: Nashik
Base Village: Ratanwadi

Ratangad is a fort in Ratan Wadi, Maharashtra, India, overlooking the locale of Bhandardara, one of the oldest artificial catchment area. The fort is about 2000 years old.
Ratangad has a natural rock peak with a cavity in it at the top which is called 'Nedhe' or 'Eye of the Needle'. The fort has four gates Ganesh, Hanuman, Konkan and Trimbak. It also has many wells on the top.
Ratangad was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle and was one of his favorites. The base village Ratanwadi has an Amruteshwar temple which is famous for its carvings. The fort is origin for the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardara dam(arthur dam) is built on this river.
The main attraction at Ratanwadi is the Amruteshwar temple dating back to the Hemadpant Era - roughly from the 8th century.

Harishchandra Gad :-

Taramati: This is the topmost point on the fort. From here we can have a glimpse of the whole range of Naneghat and the forts near Murbad (This will be visited only if time permits.)
Konkan Kada: The most interesting point on this fort is this cliff, which has always fascinated many people from many years. The cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan with a breathtaking view of the surrounding region and sunset. This cliff is not just vertical; it is an overhang, almost like a cobra's hood.
Kedareshwar: The cave of Kedareshwar has a big Shivlinga, which is totally surrounded by water.

Katrabai Khind :-

It is the small pass between the Samrad and pachnai road which had been built in British era.Some notifications indicating the distance also found in this way.Above katrabai pass there is small temple of godess katrabai.

4. Pack lunch for 15th March 2014 (Mandatory).

7. Insect repellent cream/ sun protection cream (optional).
8. Slippers or floaters (just to relax your feet before & after the trek) (optional)
9. Personal small medical kit. (If you require usually/Optional)
10. TORCH with extra batteries (compulsory).
11. Other things as per your choice.
12. Haversack to put all these things.

Cost of trek would be 1600/- per head which include

• Travelling from kasara to kalyan by public transport.
• 3 Breakfast & Tea.
• 2 Lunch & 2 Dinner.

Seats are limited...Interested participants are requested to call well in advance and in order to confirm their seat / booking for the trek / event ....the participant will be required to deposit an advance amount of INR 1000 (Non Refundable) in the following bank account:

1. The Leader's decision will be final & binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
2. It is important for all participants to stay together in the group,
in the event of any deviation by the participant without the consent of the leader, he/she/they will be considered as 'Independent/s' & will no longer be considered as a part of the group. No refund of fees will be given in case the person is expelled from trek for above 3 reasons. {Deviation: E.g.: Participant decides to go sightseeing on his own, decides to stay away from the group, decides to trek on route other than instructed by Leader, etc}
3. In the event of any Mishap, Leaders will not be responsible.
4. Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety & baggage.
5. Avoid wearing Gold or other ornaments.
6. Do not tease, argue, ask stupid questions, play prank on any villager, specially women, at the place of trek. If you do so and get beaten-up by the villagers we will not interfere nor take responsibility for it. If any one deviates and gets lost we will not be responsible. Please remember trekking is not a picnic, its an adventure, hence do not take instructions casually, defying them may prove harmful.
