Camp Overview
Mount Abu gets its name as a short form of Arbuda Mountains. Situated in the Aravalli Mountain range at an average elevation of 1220 M above MSL, it is the only hill station in the Rajasthan State of India. It is covered with green forests, boasts of a lake, waterfalls and many scenic spots. The camp takes advantage of these features to make this one of the most looked for vacation camping locations.

Objectives

The Abu camp combines adventure activities with a look-see at the local wildlife. The objective of this camp is to expose the campers to fun adventure activities to make them lose whatever fears they may have and build up their self-confidence. At the same time, they are introduced to birds, animals and so many other living creatures. The idea is to make them love and respect the flora and fauna that the place teems with.

Location

The campsite is a tented one located away from the busy and congested market place. We take train from Mumbai and reach Abu road same day. The transfer to Mount Abu campsite is by private bus.

Geography: 
The Mount Abu hillstation is situated in Sirohi district of Southern Rajasthan, close to its border with Gujarat. Spread over a plateau about 22 Km long and 9 Km wide, it has an average elevation of 1220 M and the highest point is at 1722 above MSL.
Distances:
The campsite is located away from the hustle and bustle of the marketplace. Mount Abu is about  160 Km from Udaipur in Rajasthan and 225 Km from Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

Brief itinerary flow:

The Abu camp offers great adventure and nature related activities. Zipline, commando net,  commando bridge, river crossing, various treks keep the campers busy throughout their stay at  the camp.

Day 1 Pune campers: To report at Congress Bhavan at 0630 hrs. Reach Bandra Terminus at 1130 hrs by Bus.

 

Mumbai campers: To report at 1130 hrs at Bandra Terminus. All campers will depart by (12216) DEE Garibrath at 1245 hrsArrive Abu road at 2335 hrs. Transfer to Mt Abu camp site by private vehicles.

Day 2 Early morning ice breakers and orientation.

 

Enjoy activities like zip-line (Tiger lift), ladder climbing, blind trail etc.  Stay in tented campsite.

Day 3 Full day adventure activities like trekking/ rock climbing/ rappelling/ caving.

 

After lunch go for river crossing, commando net, commando bridge.

Day 4 Full day adventure activities like: trekking to golden horn chimney & Tiger path and gun shooting.

 

Camp fire at night.

Day 5 After Breakfast visit Dilwara Temple, Nakki lake. Lunch at the campsite.

 

Enjoy team activities and Prize Distribution.

After early dinner proceed to Abu Road station to board (12215) DEE BDTS Garibrath at 2112 hrs.

Day 6 Arrive Bandra Terminus at 0810 hrs. Depart for Pune by bus. Arrive Pune at 1330 hrs.

Camp Kit :

  • One haversack and one small shoulder bag (NO TROLLEY BAG OR SUITACSE)
  • Comfortable clothes for the no. of days (track Pants, t-shirts, tops etc) (Avoid Jeans)
  • Climate would be very cold Carry enough woolen clothes like jacket, monkey camp, hand gloves etc
  • Suitable nightwear, shorts, 3/4 s, one shawl/ chaddar,
  • Undergarments, towel, napkin/ handkerchief, ladies sanitary sets
  • Sport shoes ,socks, floaters, Sun cap/ hat, water bottle
  • Water bottle, Personal kit containing toilet accessories, sun screen, cold cream, odomos, sanitizer , (High SPF sunscreen recommended for trekking camps)
  • Torch with fresh batteries
  • Sun glasses, camera, binoculars, (optional at your own risk)
  • Personal medicine, if any, with a note explaining doses, time, quantity etc. with the name of the child, No need to send any extra medicine
  • Pen, a small diary, a story book
  • Around 1500/- for meals during travel and for shopping
