Dear Friends we invite you all for One day Monsoon trek to Gorakhgad with MumbaiRangers on 28 June 2015.
Fort Gorakhgad is quite small in size. It had strategic importance during the reign of Shahaji Raje. However, no major battle is recorded to have taken
place here. It was used in Shivaji’s era to patrol the nearby region and was used as a stopover station during the journey to Junnar via Naneghat.
Though small in size,there is enough availability water and a lot of space for accommodation. The fort gets its name from Saint Gorakhnath,
who performed his “Sadhana” in this place.
Gorakhgad attracts trekkers due to its inviting pinnacle This region of Gorakhgad and Machhindragad has a dense forest cover. Gorakhgad is a small fort
at Dehri village near Murbad. Named after Saint Goraknath,the fort is at a height of 2150 ft above sea level.

next Pick up Point : Nitin Company Junction, Thane 7 oclock
Reach Base Village by 10:30am
Start Trek by 11:00am
Reach Top by 02:00pm
Lunch (self carried)
Explore the Fort
Start Descending by 03:30pm
Reach back to Base Village by 05:30pm
Start our Return Journey by 06:00pm
Reach Thane by 08:30pm
Reach Dadar by 09:30pm
The cost for the trek will be INR 750 per head. It includes, Transport from Dadar to Dadar by Private NON A/C BUS,Evening Tea And Morning Breakfast.
