This range trek will cover one of the most fascinating range of Sahyadri, Jewel fort – Ratangad, Highly Dense forests of Katrabai,
A River Walk through Mula River, Less explored Kaladgad & last but not the least the mighty Harishchandragad. Join in & enjoy the beauty of Sahyadri.

Ratangad: Jewel Fort – 4250 feet above MSL (Approx)
The fort is origin for the river Pravara / Amrutvahini . The Bhandardara dam is built on this river. Ratangad has a natural rock peak with a cavity
in it at the top which is called ‘Nedhe’ or ‘Eye of the Needle’; formed by natural erosion, it is big enough to accommodate a group of ten people and
the view of the entire region from here is absolutely amazing. Ratangad was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle and was one of his favorites.
Ratangad, a jewel fort of Sahyadris has conventionally said to have 2 routes. One, from Ratanwadi village via Ganesh Darwaja and the other from Samrad
village via Trimbak Darwaja. We will be climbing the fort via Ganesh Darwaja.
Katrabai: A Mountain Pass – 4300 feet above MSL (Approx)
The most important pass on Trans Sahyadri trek. This pass is known for passage between Ratangad and Harishchandragad. This pass gives an excellent
360° view of the area. Harishchandragad – 4500 Feet above MSL (Approx) Harishchandragad: The fort is quite ancient, considered to be from the medieval
period. The Great sage Changdev (one who wrote the epic Tatvasaar), used to meditate here in 14th century. The caves are also from the same period.
Harishchandragad was captured by the Marathas in 1747 from the Moguls.

We start from Mumbai by last Kasara local (timings given below) to reach Kasara by 2:45am. Can meet us in train 2nd last compartment from cst side,
This is a slow local, Pls reach the stations around 10 mins earlier, as missing this local will mean missing the trek..

– Cross Katrabai, and reach Kumshet,
– Trek till pethe chi wadi
– Dinner & Stay
– Continue towards Pachnai,
– Ascend Harishchandragad from Pachnai,
– Explore konkankada and kedareshwar temple,
– lunch on the fort,
– Explore fort.
– Back journey to Mumbai Reach Mumbai Around 8 oclock.

Things To Be carried:
Bottle of water (Atleast 3 Ltrs),
TORCH with extra batteries, (compulsory).
A spoon, mug and a plate (a must)
2-3 bunch of papers
Sleeping bag Optional OR blanket will also do.
Extra pair of Cloths for 2 days
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits, etc.
Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)
Good trekking shoes,
A haversack to put in all the things to be carried. so that one has ones hands free while trekking.
Please do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
Smoking, Alcohol, Drugs, Narcotics and any kind of intoxication, firearms and gambling strictly prohibited.
Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “When you go to the mountain leave only your footprints and bring back only memories”
The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care.
The club will not be responsible for injury / accident / death to the participant while on trek.
