Ladakh tour itinerary 12days/11Nights

Day 01/. Arrival in Srinagar (Kashmir).
Arrival in Srinagar, upon arrival you will meet our representative and transfer to Hotel/House boat for Check in. You will be Welcome at hotel with Kashmiri Kahwa tea which is advisable for health concern. In the late afternoon local sightseeing of Mughal Garden of Nishat and Shalimar bagh, Chashma Shahi, Pari Mhal, Shankar Acharya Temple will be organized, in addition with Shikara ride in Dal-Lake. Dinner and over night at Hotel/houseboat.

Day 02: Drive from Srinagar to Kargil.
After an early breakfast, you will proceed towards Kargil, the 2nd district of Ladakh region; you will be passing through Sonamarag and Zoji-la pass 3529m in altitude where you will see snow capped mountains and green pastures in the surroundings. On the way you will visit Kargil war memorial Vijay Smarak and Indian army won Tiger hill peak, a grand salute is must to pay homage to the bravest ones who sacrificed their lives for Mother India and for our bright and prosperous future and freedom. Dinner and overnight at Kargil in Hotel/Camp.

Day 03: Drive to Leh.
After having breakfast, leave kargil, on the way visit Lamayuru monastery and moon land hill of lamayuru, reach Mulbek village, stop to visit the Chamba – the rock carving statue of Buddha, on the way coming towards Leh we will visit the confluence of Zanskar and Indus River meets at Nimoo point. During the summer season the Zanskar River is used for White water rafting, a thrilling adventure for adventure lovers with the rapids goes up to 4+ during peak days and the same Zanskar river is used for frozen CHADDAR trek during winters which attracts domestic as well as foreigners. Next tourist spot comes is Magnetic Hill, the phenomenon of magnetic drive. Next comes the Spituk or Pe-ThupMonastery built on a cliff literally means ‘exemplary”near to Leh airfield, it is 7km , south of Leh city, founded by OdLde I in 11th centaury AD.The great translator, Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo named it Pethup. The spitukGustor/festival takes place on 18th and 19th of the eleventh month of the Tibetan calendar. Then next destination is the Hall of Fame, Indo Pak war memorials place, where you will find and see the photographs and diaries of brave Soldiers who fought for Mother India in kargil war. Drive back to Leh, half day for Shopping in Leh market. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel. Reach Leh. Dinner and overnight at Leh in Hotel.

Day 04: Local sightseeing to Monasteries, Leh Palace and sunset at Shanti Stupa. (Full day tour.)
Today you will visit Ladakh’s richest and Famous Monasteries on the way to LehManali national Highway. Post Breakfast we proceed with HemisGompa, the richest monastery founded by Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism, the monastery has a museum as well opened 5 years back to tourist with a classic antique collection. Then comes the famous Thiksey Monastery which is built on a hill with resemblance to Potala Palace of Tibet, the Thiksey village lies beneath to the Gompa and the local populace are disciple of the Monastery. The 3rd visit is Shey Palace &Gompa, The ancient summer capital of Ladakh kingdom, the Shey Palace is known as SHELKHAR, the word is derived fromShelmeans mirror and Khar means Palace,next comes the Rancho School of Druk Padma Karposhool in Shey village. The SHAH-E-HAMDANMASJID in Shey village is famous devotee place for Muslims all over world, which is restored by J&K Tourism as Heritage site worldwide. The next visit is SindhuGhat, a religious spot for Sindhi devotees; a 3 day Sindhu festival is organized by Sindhi committee on 25th, 26th& 27th of june every year on the bank of Indus river. 
The next destination is LehJamia Masjid, situated in the heart of the Leh city, built in 1666-67 AD, under an agreement between Mughal Emperor and Ladakhi king. Mughal king Aurangzeb and Ladakhi ruler Deldan Namgyal had an agreement to construct a Mosque in Ladakh. Initially the architecture of the mosque was of Tibetan, central Asian, and Ladakhi style.But with the passage of time and increase in Muslim population now it has been reconstructed with multiple stories with modern facilities and minarets and domes inspired from Iranian architecture. Leh Palace, a nine storey building erected on a hill with Ladakhi style and architecture, a recommended tourist spot for students and architecture disciples, below the palace lies Leh old Town, a must see Ladakhi settlement houses to about 396 registered homes with 120 heritage listed buildings, (a guided heritage walk is being organized and promoted by our Company to get knowledge about Ladakhi architecture, culture and traditions). In the last you will proceed towards Shanti Stupa for sunset. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 05: Excursion to PANGONG LAKE – 13,930 ft. (142 KMS / 4 - 5 HRS drive – ONE WAY).
After having early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake, the Lake is 40 miles in length and 2-4 miles in width with only 25% in Indian Territory, and rest 75% lays in the Chinese territory. The Lake has a brilliant color variations including deep blue to turquoise etc. The trip to Pangong Lake goes through Changla pass 5183 m. It is advisable not to halt at the top of the Pass to avoid breathing problem; the Army health care unit is located at the top for emergency rescue and operations. The road to Changla pass goes through Sakti village, the long ascent takes you to Changla pass covered with snow throughout the year. Tangtse village is the head quarter for the Changthang region where all the official departments operates. After driving hours finally you can have a sudden view of the Pangong Lake at Lukung Village. Deep inside, the Lake beautifies itself in nature with huge snow covered mountains on each side and the Lake resting in Peace beneath. The Lake draws more domestic tourist after the success of the Hindi film 3 idiot, the photography spot of the 3 idiot movie is the favorite hotspot for the tourist. Overnight halt at Camp at the Lake.
Day 06: Drive back from Pangong to Leh.
The last trip start with a healthy breakfast, drive forward leaving the Lake behind, reach Tangtse village the headquarter of the changtang area, where all government offices functions, stop for a while for tea or coffee, drive again and reach Changla –Pass ( 3rd highest road) the scenery from the top is magnificent, continue driving reach Leh city, transfer to Hotel. Overnight halt at Hotel in Leh.

Day 07: NUBRA VALLEY (the Valley of Flowers) via K.top 18,390 ft. (120 KMS / 4 – 5 hrs drive. One way)
After having breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley. The original name for Nubra valley is Ldumra meaning the “valley of flowers”.Leh - Nubra road passes through Khardung La, K.TOP (The World’s Highest Motorable Road). Nubra is situated in the north of Ladakh region. The average altitude is around 10,000 m above sea level. Nubra was a part of the famous Central Asian Silk Route and its imprints can be seen even today, the double humped Bactrian camel of the silk route trade period still wander in the wilderness and domesticated now for commercial purpose for tourist for camel ride in the sand dunes of hunder valley. The Disket monastery is the biggest Gompa in the Nubra region built on a hill, founded by Lama SherabZangpo of Stod in 1420 A.D during the reign of King Dragspa, a branch of Thiksey Monastery. The Sumoor village is on the opposite to Disket on the other side of the river shayok. The SamstanglingGompa is the order of Gelukpa.Tigar village is the next to Summor and has an ancient Ladakhi Kitchen museum which is a worth seeing for students. Upon arrival check into G.house in Hunder/Summor for Overnight stay. 

Day 08: Drive back from Nubra valley to Leh (120 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS).
After having breakfast proceed towards Hunder village, is the prettiest village amidst willow and poplar trees. The Hunder monastery is over 500 years old. On the way to Hunder are the famous sand dunes of Nubra, where domesticated Double Humped Bactrian Camel ride is famous for tourist. After camel riding, we drive back to Leh in the noon passing KhardunglaTop, halt for some time to click some photographs then proceed downwards to Leh. On arrival at Leh you will check in to your Hotel. Evening time is best suited for Shopping in Leh Bazaar, a good collection of Pashmina products, souvenirs and locally produced dry fruits are available in the market. Overnight stay at leh Hotel.

Day 9: Drive from Leh to Jispa-Darcha-Sarchu via LAHAUL and SPITI valleys

Day 10: Drive from Jisp to Manali via Rohtang Pass

Day 11: Local Sightseeing (Reserve Day)
local sight seeing tour in Manali is organised with some short visit to Famous temples in old Manali. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Manali.

Day 12: Departure for Chandigarh and farewell with sweet memories of the trip.
