DarkGreen Adventures (DGA) invites you for phase two of the Trans Sahyadri trek which will be led by the legendary mountaineer Arjun Vajpai.

Exactly a year ago (6th November-14th November 2015), the phase one of Trans Sahyadri trek took place where we covered entire range from Kalsubai to Bhimashankar. Because of an amazing response, we bring to you the second phase of Trans Sahyadri trek where we will cover Matheran hills, Kothaligad, Bhimashankar hills, the amazing range trek that connects Bhimashankar to Lonavala and a couple of significant forts in Lonavala. The trek will be led by Arjun Vajpai and he will be conducting lectures on various aspects of mountaineering, trekking, and survival skills and will also share personal experiences from his expeditions. So join us and be a part of this historic trek.


About Arjun Vajpai: Arjun Vajpai is living example that no dream is too big if you work towards it with determination, hard work and persistence. He is the most active mountaineer from India who has made the country proud year after year. At 16 he conquered the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest, to become the youngest ever Indian to do so at that time. He is also the youngest person in the world to climb 8000 metre(26,000feet) peaks Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Cho Oyu. Trekking with Arjun Vajpai will be a once in a lifetime experience.


Brief Itinerary:

Day 1, 5th November 2016, Saturday

07:00 - Gather at Wadala and take train to Panvel

09:00 - Reach Panvel and travel to Dodhani in a private vehicle

10:00 - Have a quick introduction round and start trek to Matheran sunset point

13:00 – Reach Sunset point. Explore and then move to Matheran bazaar for lunch

14:30 – Have lunch and then move to Garbett point. Set up the camp

17:30 - Lecture by Arjun Vajpai.

18:30 - Campfire and team games followed by dinner. Masti till you sleep.


Day 2, 6th November 2016, Sunday

07:00 - Descend to Bhivpuri. We will swim in the lake en-route

11:00 - Start journey to the base village of Kothaligad (Peth)

13:00 - Reach base village and have lunch.

14:00 - Start trekking to the fort.

18:00 - Lecture by Arjun Vajpai followed by dinner


Day 3, 7th November 2016, Monday

06:00 – Breakfast and descend to base village

09:00 - Reach the base village and move to Khandas.

11:00 - Start trekking to Bhimashankar. Lunch on the way

17:00: Reach the top, explore the place and set up camp. Followed by campfire and team games.


Day 4, 8th November 2016, Tuesday

07:00 - Begin with the most amazing range trek to Lonavla. The route passes through deep wild rain-forest, head-high bushes, lost-and-found trails, small rivulets, remote tribal villages, temples, green meadows, hidden waterfalls and a plateau of flowers.

17:00 - Reach Khandi and set up camp. Relax for the day.


Day5, 9th November 2016, Wednesday

07:00: Start trekking to the village Sandshi, the base village of Dhak Bahiri

16:00: Reach the village.

17:30: Lecture by Arjun Vajpai.


Day 6, 10th November 2016, Thursday

07:00: Start trekking towards Dhak.

12:00: Reach the caves and have lunch.

13:30: Start descending.

16:00: Reach the base village and relax for the day.


Day 7, 11 November 2016, Friday

07:00 - Start the trek towards Rajmachi.

16:00 - Reach the top, explore the fort and set up camp.

18:00 - lecture by Arjun Vajpai followed by dinner


Day 8, 12 November 2016, Saturday.

08:00 - Start descending towards Karjat. Explore the Kondane caves en-route

12:00 - Reach base village and take a tumtum to Karjat.

14:00 – Lunch at Dhaba near Station. Take train back to Mumbai

17:00 - Reach Mumbai and the journey ends with a lifetime of memories.

Expectations from this trip:

- This is a physically exhausting expedition and you need to be in good physical state. People with prior trekking experience will be preferred.

- We will choose place of accommodation based on collective decision of group and expertise of group leader.

- Expect only vegetarian meals in your package.

- Our daily schedule may differ to the schedule mentioned in the itinerary due to factors not in our control. Please don’t complain about these petty issues.
