Description

The area around Kumbhargaon (Bhigwan) is the catchment area of Ujani Dam. This wetland attracts many migratory birds from North India & other countries. The prominent birds are flamingos and some other birds that we get to see are: Grey Heron, Kingfishers, Sandpipers, Ruddy Shelduck, Egrets, Pond Heron, Duck, Gulls etc.

 

Itinerary:

Friday

23:30 - Meet at Thane Station Platform no. 10

00:00 - Start traveling to Kumbhargaon in pvt. vehicle

 

Saturday

06:00 - Reach Kumbhargaon. Fresh up in a homestay and have breakfast.

08:00 - We explore around the region on foot looking for birds

10:00 - Play some team games

13:00 - Have lunch and rest

16:00 - We go on boat to observe flamingoes and other birds

19:00 - Back to homestay. Dinner and masti till you sleep

 

Sunday

06:00 - Wake up early and go out on boat exploring flamingoes and other birds. Early morning hours is supposed to be the best time to explore birds.

09:30 - Come back and have breakfast.

11:00 - Packup and leave Kumbhargaon

13:00 - Have lunch on the way at some Dhaba

19:00 - Reach Thane

 

Fees: Rs.2500
