About ChalNikalPade event at Lohagad:
Lohagad - iron fort is the literal meaning of the name. Lohagad is easily accessible from Pune too. The trek route now has motor able road right till the base of the fort. It’s one of the best and easiest one day trekking spot all throughout the year. The monsoon season has its own magic.
As we enter the fort we come across four successive entrances: Ganesh Darwaja, Narayan Darwaja, Hanuman Darwaja and Maha Darwaja. Maha Darwaja is a superb display of a strong fortification of the gates at Lohagad. A few cannons are found along the steps of the fort. Lohagad is now protected under the Archelogy Survey of India. Trekkers cannot camp here for the night as the entry doors are shut at 17:00.
