We @ The Youth Hikers have arranged a one day trek to Fort Tikona Fort in Lonavala region on 15th June 2014, Sunday (Event especially arranged for beginners)

Little info about the fort:
Type: Hill Fort
Height: 3500 ft Feet above MSL (Approx)
Grade: Easy (No age Limit to hike the fort)
Region: Lonavala.
Base Village: Tikona peth

Tikona Fort, also renowned as Vitandgad fort, is a major hill fort in Maval region near the Lonavala. Tikona fort, literally means triangle fort, had witnessed many dynasties ruled in the Maratha region. This was the nerve center of the many activities of entire Malwa Pawna regions. The small hamlet close to the fort is Tikona peth. The fort’s mammoth entrance is a special attraction.

The Tikona fort is a great trekking destination for the adventurous tourists.
One can get the eye catching views of the Pawna Dam and the forts at Visaput, Tung and Lohagarh. The fort encloses a lake, Satvahan caves and the temple of ‘Trimbakeshwar Mahadev’.
The fort was built during the Silhara dynasty. There is a temple on top of the peak. The view of the Pawna dam, Kathingad and valleys from the top is breathtaking.

The itinerary for the Trek is as given below:

Meeting Point: @ Kamsheth Railway station …. @ 08:40 Hrs on Sunday 15th June 2014.

Mumbai People:
.
Board Indrayani Express From CST on Sunday 15th June 2014 Morning at 5.40 am and alight at Lonavla by 8am. (With ticket till Kamshet)
Time table of Indrayani Express :
Mumbai CST : 5.40am
Dadar : 5.51am
Thane : 6.14am
Kalyan : 6.35am
Karjat : 7.15am
Lonavala : 8.00am

Then catch connected Local train and get down at Kamshet Railway Station.

Note: 1) People may board same train from their respective stations of convenience and meet us directly at Lonavla. {Train timetable is provided above} . Preferably try to get into second last general compartment as we will be boarding the same. 2) For Comfortable Journey, U can book reserved Tkts in the train if u wish to. 3)Alternatively, U can Opt for MSRTC bus service which goes through Lonavala bus depo, alight there & walk of 7-8 mins will take u @ Railway station (Suitable for Navi Mumbai people)

Move forward to Kamshet by local train (8 :15am at Lonavala station platform no 3).

Pune people:  Catch Pune - Lonavala Local Train and meet us at Kamshet Railway Station.
Breakfast @ Kamshet
 08:45 Hrs: Move 2 Tikona Peth, the base village by Public Transport / Jeep. 09:45 Hrs: @ Tikona Peth – base. Time. 10:30 Hrs: Ascend
11:30 Hrs: Atop Tikona

Exploration rest etc (2 hrs approx)

13:30 Hrs: Descend
14.30 Hrs: @ Base. Lunch Time.
16:00 Hrs: Move 2 Kamshet Station 17:00 Hrs: @ Kamshet Station.
From there 2 Lonavla by local
Take train / bus to Mumbai.
We would be returning to Mumbai by 21:00 Hrs (thts-subjective).

Things To Be carried:
.
A Water Bottle (~3 Ltrs) – (a must)
Camera, Cell Phone, Binoculars (Optional)
Pls avoid wearing Gold & other ornaments
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, biscuits etc
Good trekking shoes
Personal basic medical kit (Containing an antiseptic, few bandages, personal medications if any, Antibiotics for stomach infection)

A haversack to put all these things
Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited.

The cost for the trek will be Rs 350/- per head which includes
• Traveling from Kamsheth to Kamsheth by Public Transport / hired jeeps
• Morning Breakfast – Tea & Lunch

The Youth Hikers is an organization open for all those who want to be close to nature and taste the new levels in adventure.

We are a people who believe that best way to unwind is getting closer to nature or try new levels of thrilling adventure activities.
 So here we are a group of professional adventure experts who’ll help you unwind or attain new levels of adventure.


Rules & Regulation With Declaration:


Safety is our prime concern and we don't make compromises for the same.
A  Few rules that all participants must follow:
1.     Participants are requested to carry the waste back to the city and dispose it off in trash box.
2.     Do not disturb the flora and fauna. No making pretty bouquets of grabbed flowers and blooms.
3.     No feeding and intimidating birds and other animals.
4.     Do not destroy/ write on archaeological or historical monuments.
5.     Chewing Tobacco, Consumption of Cigarette and Alcohol is strictly not being permitted during the event. Anyone found in possession of the same or consuming it will be expelled from the trek. No REFUND will be provided.
6.     The ‘Leader’s’ decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
7.     Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.
8.     In case of any injury, sickness, accident, death, Bike accident or any other casualty or loss or damage of valuables or luggage or any equipment; The Youth Hikers, it’s instructors, organizers, volunteers or any other person involved wholly or partially, either individually or jointly, shall not be responsible in any manner for the same and no claims (any kind) of the participants, parents, guardians, relatives or friends of participants will be entertained.
9.     It is of utmost importance that all participants stick together in the group.
10.  The Youth Hikers reserves the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice. No arguments or refunds will be entertained.
11.  Adventure activity is arranged considering normal weather. In case of occurrence of any natural calamities, if event is cancelled, in such circumstances NO REFUND will be provided.
