Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: 31st May 2019, Friday - Chandigarh to Shimla (4-5 Hours Approx)
Chapter 1 : The Arrival
You need to book your flights from your origin city to Chandigarh and make sure you report to the lead before 2 pm at Chandigarh station or Airport, whichever mode of transportation suits you. Our Trikon buddy meets and greets all members and proceeds towards Shimla – The Queen of Hill stations. This drive from Chandigarh to Shimla transfers you from the city to the untamed mountains of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla today is an attractive blend of a hill, town and holiday resorts. With its distinctive retro style, hand-painted signs in bazaars, cars banned in the main town, Shimla has an old-world charm to it which feels as if the British left just yesterday. You are free to rest at the hotel or you can explore the town on your own. The capital city opens its arms to welcome you! Stay overnight at a hotel in Shimla and have dinner together to know each other well.

Day 2: 1st June 2019, Saturday, (Shimla - Sangla ) ( 5-6 hours)
Chapter 2 : Kinnaur Says Hi!
Today wake up early, have your breakfast and start at 6 am for the traverse through Sangla valley. Known predominantly for its agriculture, almost every house in Sangla will have cultivations of apples, pears, walnuts, apricots or potatoes. Sangla valley facing the Baspa river is bound to scintillate your senses. You also get to interact and connect with the locals of this Kinnauri beauty. Spend the night at Sangla camps and keep counting the stars, coz the sky would be damm clear.

Day 3: 2nd June 2019, Sunday (Sangla - Chitkul - Kalpa) ( 5-6 hours)
Chapter 3 : Last Indian Village
We will be going for a short drive from Sangla to Chitkul, which will be one of the most scenic drives you’ll take with plenty of opportunities to take stunning photographs. Chitkul is the last inhabited village near the Indo-China border. Walk around the Bapsa river and pay tribute to the Mathi Goddess at the temple in the village. We then move towards Kalpa which is a small town in the Sutlej river valley, above Recong Peo. It sits on a high podium with absolutely majestic views of the Kinner Kailash. Spend the night at this bustling transit village. Night wraps in with fun stories and dinner to treat your taste buds. Sleep tight.

Day 4: 3rd June 2019, Monday ( Kalpa - Nako - Tabo - Kaza ) ( 5-6 hours )
Chapter 4 : Welcome to Spiti
Wake up to the birds call and peep out to capture that mesmerizing view. Freshen up and enjoy your breakfast to pump up yourself as today you will be entering the deserted valleys of Lahaul and Spiti. We leave from Kalpa and drive towards the village of Kaza, which is main hub in KAZA. Visit NAKO lake and monastery. Have lunch and move towards Tabo and explore one of the oldest monastery here. Click pictures and reach Kaza by evening. Located near INDO-China Border, Nako is the perfect place to experience the vividness and difference in culture. The second largest village of the Spiti Valley, Tabo, is known worldwide for its 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery. Walk around this UNESCO world heritage site and gain a deeper insight into Buddhism. Unlike other monasteries in the Spiti Valley, the Tabo monastery is located at the bottom of the valley. We serve you hot dinner and end your day with fun games. Sleep well.

Day 5 : 4th June 2019, Tuesday ( Kaza - Dhankar -Pin Valley - Kaza ) ( 3-4 hours )
Chapter 5 : Road trip begins
Wake up to be all set to explore the dream destinations. Freshen up quickly and have your breakfast to start the Grand Himalayan Road Trip. We drive through Sumdo, the first village of Spiti Valley on this road, to Tabo, which would be our first stop in the glorious, mystical Spiti Valley. We will be proceeding to Dhankar after this,which is renowned for its 1200-year old monastery balanced precariously on a rocky precipice. We drive towards the beautiful Pin Valley, which is home to the rare snow leopard and its prey, the ibex. It derives its name from the Pin River.

We first visit the Kungri Monastery and then the beautiful hamlet of Mudh – the last motorable village of the Pin Valley. By evening, drive to Kaza, the commercial capital of the Spiti valley and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 6 : 5th June 2019, Wednesday ( Kaza - Langza - Hikkim - Komik - Ki Monastery - Kibber - Lhahung ) ( 3-4 hours )
Chapter 6 : Highest Monastery
At Spiti Valley today, we drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the world. Explore the highest village in Asia, Komik. This farming village has a population of 84 people, living in utter isolation, cut-off from the rest of the world for most parts of the year.

Later, we drive to Hikkim which has the world's highest post office! Don't forget to write to your dear ones in the good old traditional way. You will find beautiful postcards and stamps here to send a memorabilia home! We also see the Chincham Bridge the highest one in the Asia.

At, Lhangza we witness the high rising Buddha statue, which is a prominent destination in Spiti.

After lunch we head to Key Monastery. Founded in the 11th century, the Key Monastery was built on top of a hill at an altitude of 13,668 ft. It is the biggest monastery in Spiti Valley and also a religious training centre for the Lamas. Ancient murals, paintings and religious books can be found here. Later, we will head to Lhahung for night stay. Let’s do some star gazing and observe the constellations.

Day 7 : 6th June 2019, Thursday ( Kaza - Kunzum La - Chandratal Lake ) ( 6-7 hours )
Chapter 7 : Bluish Beauty
We now drive to one of the most photogenic places in Spiti Valley – the Chandratal Lake. Before that, we pass through the high altitude pass of Kunzum La. Stop by at the stupa and pay tribute to the local goddess, “Kuzum Mata” as she's known. At 15,000 feet above sea-level, the Kuzum Pass connects Kullu and Lahaul to the Spiti Valley. At 15,060 ft, the Kunzum La is a high mountain pass that connects the Kullu and Lahaul valleys. From there, we head to Chandratal Lake – A visual marvel, this stunning blue-coloured lake is set at an altitude of 4,300 meters above sea level in the heart of high Himalayas and is a must see on a full moon night. It derives its name, “Chandra” (Moon) and “Taal” (Lake) from the crescent shape of the lake. Watch the lake change colours from crystal clear shades of blue to emerald greens by dusk. Overnight at a camp 2 km away from Chandratal Lake. This is the must see place when in Spiti. As our days come to an end, we are sure the bonds you have cherished over all these days become stronger. How about spend the night awake and sharing stories? Dinner to be served her and day retires in camps.

Day 8: 7th June 2019, Friday ( Chandratal Lake - Rohtang Pass – Manali ) ( 6-7 hours )
Chapter 8 : Beauty of the Moon Lake
Wake up and freshen up. Have your breakfast and drive from Chandratal Lake towards Manali. Rohtang is the same place where Kareena once danced in Jab we met. It is a frequented trade route of high importance. We will end the day in the famous hill station of Manali which serves as a gateway to Spiti as well as Leh regions. You can walk around the manali market and visit the famous Hadimba temple where Yeh JAWANI HAI DIWANI was shot. Shop for souvenirs and relax as your tour is about to end. Board your bus to Delhi in the evening and reach Delhi next day morning.

Day 9: 8th June 2019 Saturday ( Manali - Delhi - Mumbai ) (12-14 hours ) Overnight Volvo Bus
Chapter 9 : Farewell
The last day of the journey will be no less adventurous or breathtaking. By now, we bet your camera and phone's memory cards will be full to capacity with mind blowing snaps and your heart full of joy as we end the grand Himalayan road trip today! The best Spiti - Kinnaur valley holidays will give you a lifetime of memories. Reach Delhi in the morning and take a flight from Delhi to Destination city post 2 pm
