Dear trekkers and routine breakers,
It’s raining in the Ghats and its trekking time once again… another Beautiful trek, another must see place with mind-blowing scenery, Loads of water and a wonderful beauty of nature in monsoon...
We are extremely glad to announce that "OUTDOOR ADVENTURES MANAGEMENT" is
organizing a “Trek to Lohaghad” on 17th June 2012 in the Lonavla region.
More about the destination:
With a 2000 year old history and 3400 ft high, Lohagad one of the Majestic forts in the region. The climb to the fort brings you to its panoramic vantage points along with huge balconies and doors instated for its defence. The view from atop the fort especially from Vinchu Kata (The Scorpion's Tail) is breath-taking, with bountiful lakes that surround it. The fort's significance dates back to the period of Chattrapati Shivaji's reign, else wise it was used for housing prisoners in the year 1564. In 1670, Shivaji Maharaj conquered this fort and in the year 1751.
The entrance to this fort is impressive and is aptly called 'Delhi Gate' and there are three gates seen placed one after the other.
Lohagad is a one day trek, but to enjoy not just the destination but also the journey, and to spend a fairly good amount of time on the top, we start on the 16th night, so that the trek begins in the early morning hours.
