About the Trek:

Base Village: Narivali Region: Malshej (Between Bhimashankar and Gorakhgad).
Siddhagad is old age hill fort established by Shilahaar royal family in 9th century which is situated near Murbad , surrounded by 2000 years old ancient forts Gorakhgad and Machhindragad. This hill fort had tallest height to climb in all forts in Maharashtra is about 910 meters. Fort has two parts - Siddhagad Machi (plateau) and Balekilla (Citadel). A village of about 300 populations exists on Siddhagad Machi. Balekilla is tough to climb while Siddhagad Machi is easy to reach. Within the fort, there is an ancient temple of Goddess Shri Namrata Devi and a shrine of Lord Shiva. There are also few remnants of the fort over which the British and the Maratha forces had fought for mastery. There are some broken cannons, and few water cisterns.The Siddhagad Fort is also known in Indian Freedom movement as two the freedom fighters, Bhai Kotwal and Hiraji Patil were shot dead at this place by the British in January 1943. A memorial dedicated to these freedom fighters is located at the opposite end of the fort.

Move Towards Narivali (Base Village) through Local Transport Auto/Bus etc.
Rest at Narivali ……
Dt.19.08.2012 Morning Breakfast, Round of Introduction, instructions and start the trek.
Reach the top in 3-4 hrs, Lunch break.
Explore the fort , and Start Decending towards Base Village up to 05.00 pm
Evening refreshments and Start return journey and reach Mumbai by 09.00 pm tentatively.

** Please note Rains are expected, so pack yr bags accordingly to save them from getting wet. Double pack your valuables in plastic bags
** The cost for the trek is Rs 320/- per head
