21"TREKKERSS FAMILY” has arranged a Trek to KALASUBAI- PEAK ( Highest peak of Maharashtra)

On April 7-8, 2012

Brief Introduction about Places as below:

District-Nagar

Base Village-Bari

Approx. time to reach the top-3hrs from base village

Kalsubai Peak ((1646 meters) of the Sahyadris in Akole Taluka, of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.

It usually takes three hours to reach the top from Bari. Soon after leaving Bari, a small stream is crossed followed soon after by a Hanuman temple. The route from behind this temple takes the hiker straight to the summit. There are three iron ladders along this route. There is a well near the last iron ladder as one approaches the top but the water is not potable during the summer. The rest of the route is without water, so it is best to fill water bottles in Bari. It is an easy hike, but parts of it are quite steep in places.

At the summit is a small temple of Kalsubai, which can seat just three people. The vastly spread out backwaters of Bhandardara attracts ones attention from the top. To the north of the mountain range forts such as Ramsej, Harihargad, Brahmagiri, Anjaneri, Ghargad, Bahula, Tringalwadi, Kavnai can be seen. To the east one can spot Aundha, Vishramgad, Bitangad, to the west Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Ratangad (south west)

Meeting Point- Igatpuri Bus Depo Till 4.00 am on 8^th April (participants must be reached @ Igatpuri till 4.00am)

5.00  Hrs- Catch the bus to Bari

6.00  hrs- reach Bari base Village

6.30  hrs- Trek Start

7.30  hrs- Break-fast @ Hanuman Temple

11.00hrs- Reached the Top & Rest

12.30hrs-  Back to Base Village

14.30hrs- Lunch & Rest

16.00hrs- Back to Igatpuri / Kasara ( thats – subjective)

Cost- Rs- 250/ per person including TEA, LUNCH (veg), TRANSPORT from IGATPURI TO IGATPURI (kasara)

( Note- Rs-275/per person from April5,2012)

Maximum- 21 Members Only

Things To Carry:-
A Water Bottle (~2 Ltrs) (a must)
Good trekking shoes, Extra pair of Cloths, TOWEL etc. (a must)
.Camera, Cell Phone (Optional)
Pls avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits, & Morning Breakfast etc
Personal basic medical kit (Containing an antiseptic, few bandages, personal medications if any, Antibiotics for stomach infection)
A haversack to put all these things
